So long, it’s been fun!

Today is my last day at WBEE.

I’m going to miss all of you! It’s not easy to say goodbye. On the bright side, my husband and I are moving back to our hometown, Albuquerque New Mexico.

THANK YOU!!! You’ve made the last 4 years so enjoyable. I couldn’t have done this without you. Don’t be a stranger, find me on facebook and twitter.

I’ll miss you!

Love,

Weslea

My near death experience

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Most of my mornings are very uneventful.

It normally goes down like this; shower, breakfast, makeup, hair. NOT YESTERDAY! Allow me to revisit the drama…

I’m drying my hair. ALL OF THE SUDDEN my hairdryer starts sputtering like 79 Gremlin. Within seconds it is no longer blowing like it should. At this point things get a bit fuzzy because it was SO traumatic. Sparks began to fly from the cord. Now, when I say “sparks began to fly” I need you to understand the severity of the situation. KISS would have been blown away by the pyrotechnics that my hair dryer produced. I start doing some sort of flashdance while screaming at the top of my lungs. All the while the sparks are flying. I’m pretty sure the entire episode only lasted about 8.25 seconds (although, it felt like a lifetime). I was scared that if I tried to unplug my hair dryer I would get electrocuted and no one would know that I was lying lifeless on my bathroom floor. I had to take a deep breath and find “brave Weslea” when I found her… she gave me the strength to unplug “sparky” (that’s my new nick-name for my dead hair-dryer). I threw sparky out the back door and onto the sidewalk and then checked for burn marks. Didn’t find any, turns out I might be super dramatic! Who knew?

I lived, I’m scarred and I had a really bad hair day, but I lived.

I don’t like Oreos… WHAT?

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

Dear everyone who has made fun of me in the last week,

Just because I don’t like Oreo cookies does not mean that I’m un-American! I was unaware that Oreos are right up there with apple pie & hot dogs on the list of things that I should love based on my country of origin.

Although, maybe you’re right! Maybe I am un-American. I just did a Google search for “people who don’t like Oreo cookies.” One of the only postings I can find is on Yahoo answers… a person asking if there is “anyone else who doesn’t like the Oreo biscuits.” Clearly that person is not from around here. I’m beginning to believe that I’m the ONLY one who doesn’t like Oreos. They taste like dirt and sugar to me.

Maybe my dislike of the Oreo is based on the fact that I can’t dunk them in milk (I’m lactose intolerant and dunking cookies in soy milk just doesn’t have the same effect). I don’t know! Now I’m just grasping at strings trying to make myself feel normal.

Love,

Weslea
