Hey Wes!

I know that people send you e-mails asking for advice, and I need some. I’m 28 and successful in my career. My mom swears that’s why I haven’t settled down yet. I’ve had the same best friend for 20 years. He grew up down the street from me and we’ve gone through everything together, high school, boyfriends, girlfriends, college, careers and first loves.

He and I hang out at least 3 times a week. I’m totally in love with him. Truth be told, he is the reason why I don’t date. I want to be there when he realizes that he wants to be with me. I don’t know if that day will ever come. I’ve never discussed my feelings with him (or anybody). For all I know, he could feel the same way. I’ve been trying to decide if I should tell him that I’m in love with him. On one hand, it could make me the happiest woman alive. But, if he doesn’t feel the same way I wouldn’t want to lose the friendship we have.

Have other people been in this situation? What am I supposed to do? Should I tell him that I’m in love with him? Please help!
