Juicy tidbits from Nashville to hold you over for the weekend!

Guitars & Stars

Do you know who that is? A couple of weeks ago I showed you part of another artist. If you know your country music stars you may soon know the line up to our next show!!!Leave your guesses below…

How Do You Like Him Now?

Forbes.com named Toby Keith the top-earning country performer over the past year. His paycheck totaled around 48-million dollars. Rascal Flatts came in second with an estimated 40-million dollars. Tim McGraw was number three, he brought in 23-million. Kenny Chesney and Brooks & Dunn came in fourth and fifth respectively.

Daddy-To-Be

Dierks Bentley doesn’t expect a huge change in his lifestyle when his baby is born. This week he said, “Not to compare a child to a dog, but when you’ve got Jake and George, those guys they just — ‘Come on, let’s go. We’ve got a gig to play, jump on the bus.’ You just kind of keep going forward. Hopefully it will add depth to your life and make it bigger, but I don’t see it necessarily changing anything I do.” Parents, what do you think? Is he wrong?

Country? Really?

Rod Stewart is yet another musician who wants to make a country album. Although, it doesn’t look like it will happen in the near future. He told Reuters, “There’s a country and western album I’d love to do, although the record company doesn’t want it. We are still in the throes of talking about it. I very much doubt whether we will get it done this year.” I can’t really imagine Rod singing country, can you?

Summer Albums

Jewel’s first country C-D, Perfectly Clear, makes its debut June 3rd.

Montgomery Gentry releases Back When I Knew It All on June 10th

Mark Chesnutt’s Rollin with the Flow hits shelves June 24th.

Sugarland releases Love on the Inside on July 11th.

Keith Anderson’s C’Mon is in stores August 5th.

That was awkward!

I still have a few friends that love to send me forwards. I despise forwards. Does anyone like these things? Personally, when I see one in my in-box I delete it. Sometimes people change the subject line and I get tricked into reading the forward because I think it’s a regular e-mail. Take a look at a snippet from a forward I got a few weeks ago…

“This is a friend test. Send this to as many friends as you possibly can especially the person that sent to you and if you get it back, you truly will know who your friends are.”

A side note to all my friends: I’m your friend regardless of whether or not I send stupid forwards back to you!

I was getting about 12 forwards a day, all from the same friend. I finally asked her to please stop sending me forwards. She got her feelings really hurt. In fact, she didn’t speak to me for a week. Have you ever had to ask a friend to stop some sort of annoying behavior? How did they take it? You can post your stories and leave comments below…
