Pop Culture Presidents?

Is there something wrong with this picture?

What about this one?

The presidential candidates are changing the way they do business. They’re all doing it… posting videos on YouTube, making fun of themselves on Saturday Night Live, and dancing with Ellen DeGeneres on her TV show. Some critics think that stints like this “dumb down” the presidential race. It’s not just the candidates. President Bush made a special appearance on Deal or No Deal a couple of weeks ago. Are we heading towards the age of pop-culture presidents? What’s next, a movie starring our commander-in-chief? What is this doing to the election? It may appeal to the younger voters, but are the candidates alienating some of their supporters? Well, what do you think?

This is getting totally ridiculous isn’t it? This whole election process is just one big joke and Obamma and Hillary are the worst of it all. They perhaps think it is funny to dance on Ellen or be on Saturday Night Live or even Letterman. I don’t and neither of them will get my vote.

I think when I see the candidates on these popular shows, it is first another distraction away from any issues they should be discussing and secondly, it seems they just want to align themselves with Hollywood. Hillary seems to do this more often than Obama.

I don’t know what you’re talking about. Dana Carvey is very funny as President Bush. The liberal media needs to leave the comedy to the comedians.
