Is it Kenny’s time to retire?

Kenny Rogers is thinking about retiring from the music business. He tells the Las Vegas Sun that being on the road isn’t much fun now that he has two young children at home. Kenny has twin boys who are almost four years old. He says, “My priorities have shifted so much. Not so much that I don’t enjoy the music, not so much that I don’t enjoy performing, but so much that I’m not willing to sacrifice my family.” Kenny, who will turn 70 later this year, is recording a new album. Sadly, he says it may very well be his last.

Beautiful People

Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood have both made it onto People magazine’s annual 100 Most Beautiful list. Taylor, whose shoot for the layout was taken without a stitch of make-up, says, “I have blonde eyelashes and blonde eyebrows, so my typical insecurity is that my eyes go away when I don’t have makeup on. But it’s important to be comfortable with who you are and go natural once in a while.”

Carrie told the magazine that she still gets jitters walking the red carpet. She says, “I feel more beautiful when I see the pictures after. I’m like, ‘I wish I had felt like I looked like that when I was actually there.’” (more…)

Retail Deals for Stimulus Checks

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

We’ve all heard about the economic stimulus checks that are going to be showing up soon. Under the plan, individuals who have filed their tax returns for the year can receive up to $600 and families can get up to $1,200.

Depending on the last two digits of your Social Security Number your check could arrive as soon as this week (Click here to find out when you’ll get yours). My husband got his at the beginning of the week. As a result, we ended up at Best Buy last night, we walked away with PS3 (Play Station 3).

Some retailers are offering incentive for you to spend all your money with them. Click here to read the article. Sears and K-Mart will offer a 10 percent bonus to anyone who converts their check into a Sears or Kmart gift card. Is that enough for you to hand all your money over to Sears or Kmart?

What are you going to do with your economic stimulus check? Is it going to bills? Or, are you going to do something fun?
