Yesterday I had a question for Newman. I sent him a text message. A few minutes later I get this response, “Weasley, I think you sent this 2 me by accident.” I thought Newman was trying to be cute by spelling my name wrong, so I sent him another text, “Ha Ha, very funny. I know you’re golfing, so just call me when you’re done.”

Right after I send the text my phone starts ringing, the caller ID says Newman. I answer, “Hey Newmie, I just have a quick question for you.” A guy answers back, “I think you have the wrong Newman.” As soon as “Newman” starts talking, I know that I have the wrong person. My embarrassment sets in. The guy on the line starts to explain where I know him from, “Wes, we met in Nashville, I work for a radio station in Harrisburg…”

The only thing left for me to do is explain what happened. I was super embarrassed, I’ve only met this guy once and I just called him “Newmie!” He was nice about the whole situation. I recovered from my embarrassment. What did I learn? Not to have multiple people saved under the same name in my phone!
